There are 2,002 patients are hospitalized, including 145 patients in intensive care units. The results are from 53,280 PCR diagnostic tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previous bulletin results for weekend days have been:<br>Bulletin #58 numbers were 12,110 confirmed tests, 371 new cases, 428 deaths, 52,359 PCR tests.<br>Bulletin #57 numbers were 11,739 confirmed tests, 419 new cases, 424 deaths, 50,108 PCR tests.<br>Bulletin #56 numbers were 11,320 confirmed tests, 124 new cases, 422 deaths, 47117 PCR tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PCR tests stats for the past seven days are: 921 (Bulletin #59), 2,251 (Bulletin #58), 2,991 (Bulletin #57), 657 (Bulletin #56), 1,792 (Bulletin #55), 1,038 (Bulletin #54), 1,672 (Bulletin #53). The Pan American Health Organization says that the country needs to be able to show consistency in testing before easing activity restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statistical reports do not include results from rapid response blood antibody tests or patients diagnosed with tomography or other means. The Dominican Republic has a population of more than 10 million people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of Saturday, 16 May 2020 at 6pm, the most confirmed cases continue to be reported in the National District and Santo Domingo Province, Santiago, La Vega, Duarte, San Cristobal, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, La Romana, Hermanas Mirabal, and S\u00e1nchez Ram\u00edrez. All other provinces report 200 or less cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The largest increases in confirmed cases were reported for Santo Domingo province (51), San Crist\u00f3bal (38), the National District (36), Espaillat \/ Moca (21), Santiago (12), La Vega (11), La Altagracia (5), La Romana (4), Azua (3), Hermanas Mirabal (3), Duarte (3), Montecristi (2), San Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa (2), Valverde (2) and Santiago Rodr\u00edguez (2). The Ministry of Public Health reports 1 or less confirmed cases in 16 other provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Bulletin #59, the evolution of the health crisis nationwide is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>National District: 3,143 cases, 36 new cases, 64 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Santo Domingo province: 2,811 cases, 51 new cases, 67 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Santiago: 1,244 cases, 12 new cases, 67 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Vega: 785 cases, 11 deaths, 23 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Duarte (San Francisco de Macor\u00eds): 762 cases, 3 cases, 84 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>San Crist\u00f3bal: 633 cases, 38 new cases, 18 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Espaillat (Moca, Gaspar Hern\u00e1ndez): 482 cases, 21 new cases, 8 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Puerto Plata: 314 cases, 18 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Romana: 295 cases, 4 new cases, 7 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monse\u00f1or Nouel (Bonao): 294 cases, 5 new cases, 4 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hermanas Mirabal \/ Salcedo: 234 cases, 3 new cases, 15 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S\u00e1nchez Ram\u00edrez (Cotu\u00ed): 232 cases, 1 new case, 6 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Altagracia (Higuey, Ver\u00f3n, Punta Cana): 197 cases, 5 new cases, 2 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Azua: 138 cases, 3 new cases, 2 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mar\u00eda Trinidad S\u00e1nchez \/ Nagua: 116 cases, 1 new case, 4 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>San Pedro de Macor\u00eds: 99 cases, 12 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>San Juan de la Maguana: 98 cases, 5 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peravia: 87 cases, 3 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Barahona: 73 cases, 1 death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valverde: 69 cases, 4 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Santiago Rodr\u00edguez: 45 cases, 2 new cases, 1 death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Montecristi: 31 cases, 2 new cases<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monte Plata: 30 cases, 6 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saman\u00e1: 29 cases, 1 new case, 1 death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>San Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa: 19 cases, 2 new cases, 2 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Seibo: 14 cases<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hato Mayor: 13 cases, 2 deaths<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El\u00edas Pi\u00f1a: 7 cases<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baoruco: 6 cases, 1 new death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dajab\u00f3n: 6 cases<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pedernales: 5 cases<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Independencia: 3 cases, 1 death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haiti reports 358 confirmed cases and 20 deaths as of 15 May 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Americas, the Dominican Republic is ranked 9th in confirmed cases after the United States, Brazil, Canada, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Chile and Colombia.
