As of 1 November 2020, Air Transat has included five Dominican destinations in its flights this winter. The airline resumed operations on 23 July and plans to operate, at the height of the winter season, flights to more than 40 destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America, the United States, Europe and Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEven though the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the entire tourism industry, the desire to go abroad for a change of scenery and for discoveries is still very much alive in travelers,\u201d says Annick Gu\u00e9rard, chief operating officer of Transat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company announces direct flights from Montreal, Toronto and Quebec City to the Dominican Republic. The breakdown is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Montreal: La Romana, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Samana, Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic
Toronto: La Romana, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana and Samana
Quebec City: Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Samana
The airline also announces direct flights from Halifax, Hamilton, London, Moncton and Ottawa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To open the door to more international destinations and enable travel throughout Canada, Air Transat will also operate domestic flights between Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flights are subject to changes in demand and travel restrictions. Nevertheless, the airline is offering flexible options to book, change or to cancel a trip. The company has in place a \u201cBook with peace of mind offer\u201d whereby passengers are allowed to change their travel dates or destination (or both) at no charge up to 24 hours before departure. In the event of a cancellation, they will obtain a travel credit that will be fully transferable and have no expiry date. This offer is in effect until 31 August 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another \u201cHere Comes the Sun Promo\u201d also includes extra flexibility on new bookings of South packages made by 11 September 2020. It features perks like Transat\u2019s Price Drop Guarantee, a reduced deposit of only $100, and Option Flex, allowing travelers to cancel or change their booking at no charge or transfer their package to a friend or family member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
