Grupo Orbe Dominicano is the company contracted to build the heliport. Pichardo says the airport is vital for health emergencies, resue, tourism and executive operations. Construction is 40% completed. The construction had stopped when a National State of Emergency was declared in March 2020 due to Covid-19.
