Recently he was promoted to brigadier general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brigadier General Ram\u00f3n Antonio Guzm\u00e1n Peralta was referred to by his accusers in the Dominican government as &#8220;colonel Abinader&#8221; because he had not too long before the incident been designated as security officer to then presidential candidate Luis Abinader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former Attorney General Jean Alain Rodr\u00edguez prepared accusations that incriminated the military and a Claro technician. The charge went so far as to also incriminate presidential candidate Abinader, who was leading the polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The case was later dismissed in a public appearance where a document was read by former legal advisor to the President Flavio Dar\u00edo Espinal in the presence of Minister of the Presidency Gustavo Montalvo. Later, an Organization of American States mission would determine the election technology glitch was caused by mismanagement. The security forces never investigated the suspicious interventions of JCE facilities by individuals who commented on these in a WhatsApp chat by the Claro technician and then.
