The presiding judge of the First Collegiate Court of the National District, Giselle Perez announced the postponing for 5 October 2020 the restart of the case against the six remaining defendants. These are: Odebrecht commercial representative Angel Rond\u00f3n, former Public Works Minister V\u00edctor D\u00edaz R\u00faa; lawyer Conrado Pittaluga; former PLD senator Tommy Gal\u00e1n; former PRD senator Andr\u00e9s Bautista Garc\u00eda; and the former director of the National Potable Water and Sewage Institute (Inapa) Roberto Rodr\u00edguez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The court delayed the hearings to give time to process the definitive files for in favor of another eight people that had been involved in the case as handled under former Attorney General Jean Alain Rodr\u00edguez. Last week, the new director of the Administrative Corruption Prosecution Office (Pepca), Wilson Camacho said that the former Attorney General Office had definitively filed the Odebrecht case against Temistocl\u00e9s Mont\u00e1s, Julio C\u00e9sar Valent\u00edn, Alfredo Pacheco, Rudy Gonz\u00e1lez, C\u00e9sar S\u00e1nchez, Bernardo Castellanos, M\u00e1ximo De \u00d3leo and Radham\u00e9s Segura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The men were also accused of participating in the US$92 million scheme of bribes from 2003 to 2017 to facilitate the awarding of billionaire works to the Brazilian construction company, Odebrecht nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a new development, it was announced that Rodolfo Espi\u00f1eira Ceballos, is replacing Attorney General Miriam German Brito in handling the Odebrecht case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
