Aizp\u00fan is the director of the digital Diario Libre. At the printed newspaper, she replaces Adriano Miguel Tejada, who is retiring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aizp\u00fan becomes the first woman to direct a major daily in the Dominican Republic. She is a Spanish journalist who came to work in the Dominican Republic in 1987 in Ultima Hora, an afternoon newspaper. She later joined Rumbo newsweekly magazine in 1994. She married a Dominican, had a Dominican son and made herself a Dominican national, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is an award-winning journalist, highly regarded for her editorials and independent criteria in her popular to-the-point editorials, where she tells things as they are. She has worked with Tejada since day one in building the leading media company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The future of this newspaper could not be in better hands so that it continues to lead in innovation and journalism focused on enduring values,&#8221; writes Tejada in an editorial today.
