The fund is popularly known as &#8220;the little barrel&#8221; and provides RD$600,000 to RD$1 million in extra funds for social actions or for use at the senators&#8217; discretion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only two senators are excluded from the payments in September to the legislators for social works. These are Eduardo Estrella (DxC-Santiago), president of the Senate, and Antonio Taveras Guzm\u00e1n (PRM-Santo Domingo).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The largest allocations made in September 2020 correspond to the National District senator Faride Raful (PRM-National District) and Franklin Rodriguez (FP-San Cristobal) with RD$1,059,000.00 each. The funds are distributed in proportion to the population of the provinces. The distribution of funds to senators of the other provinces is: La Vega RD$944,000; Puerto Plata RD$869,000; San Pedro Macor\u00eds RD$859,000; Duarte RD$849,000; San Juan RD$799,000; Espaillat RD$784,000; La Romana RD$779,000; Azua RD$769,000; and Barahona, La Altagracia and Monte Plata RD$739,000 each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, Monsignor Nouel and Peravia each with RD$729,000; Valverde RD$719,000; S\u00e1nchez Ram\u00edrez RD$709,000; Mar\u00eda Trinidad S\u00e1nchez RD$694,000; Montecristi RD$669,000; Hermanas Mirabal RD$654,000; Bahoruco, Mar\u00eda Trinidad S\u00e1nchez and Saman\u00e1 with RD$649,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, El Seibo and Pedernales RD$629,000; Dajab\u00f3n, El\u00edas Pi\u00f1a, Santiago Rodr\u00edguez and San Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa with RD$619,000; and Independencia with RD$609,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, in the Chamber of Deputies most deputies are also keeping the financial perks assigned to them that are less than those distributed to the senators. PRM deputy for the National District, Orlando Jorge Villegas, said that he agrees that the bonus payments be eliminated for all. PRM deputy for Santiago, Soraya Su\u00e1rez says she favors receiving or not receiving the fund.
