The Board of Directors of the Technology Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC) is swearing in new rector Julio S\u00e1nchez Mari\u00f1ez in a virtual session at 11am on 19 January 2021 (YouTube channel @INTECrd)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Julio S\u00e1nchez-Mar\u00ed\u00f1ez is a psychologist who graduated from the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Santo Domingo (UASD), with graduate studies in Planning and Administration of Higher Education at INTEC and a doctorate in Organizational and Managerial Studies from the School of Business of the State University of New York in Albany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

S\u00e1nchez-Mar\u00ed\u00f1ez had served as Rector of the Salom\u00e9 Ure\u00f1a Higher Institute of Teacher Training (ISFODOSU) from 2013 until this year. Previously he was the high school director at the Colegio Dominicano De La Salle. He has also held positions as executive secretary of the National Council of Higher Education (CONES) and teaching and research advisor at the Department of Psychology at the State University of New York at Albany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At INTEC he was vice-rector for Research and Liaisons (2008-2013); dean of the Business Area (1994-1995); executive director for Continuing Education and Scientific Dissemination (1985-1986). He has taught in both undergraduate and graduate programs in the Social Sciences and Humanities Area and the Economics and Business at INTEC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, he has been director of the Business Administration and Marketing programs at the Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and professor of Organizational Theory in the graduate program in Government and Public Policy at the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO) in 2002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was program manager of the Management Development and Human Resources Component of Cariforum (1996-1997), technical director of the Program to Support the Reform and Modernization of the Executive Branch (Pro-Reforma) of the Inter-American Development Bank (2006) and has also had experience in the private sector as vice president of Human Resources (1992) and vice president of Support and Infrastructure (1995) at the BHD Bank. He presided the consulting services firm Consultrain from 1997 to 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
