On Thursday, 28 January 2021, state prosecutors accredited evidence of the ties linking former Minister of Public Works Victor D\u00edaz R\u00faa to the US$92 million in bribes Odebrecht says it paid to expedite contracting in the Dominican Republic. Financial analyst Mar\u00eda del Carmen \u00c1lvarez presented proof that allegedly the company Indoequipesa was used by incriminated lawyer Conrado Pittaluga to launder money received as bribes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The judges of the First Collegiate Court of the National District accepted the evidence that on 10 February 2014, Indoequipesa granted two loans to the construction company Solaris for US$100,000 and another for RD$2.5 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The witness was required to demonstrate the corporate composition of Indoesquipesa and prove the ties to D\u00edaz R\u00faa. D\u00edaz R\u00faa&#8217;s son-in-law Leonardo Guzm\u00e1n Font Bernard is the main shareholder in the company. A certificate dated 16 February 2017, signed by the Mercantile Registrar of the Chamber of Commerce of Santo Domingo, certified the relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A report by the company Roymar SRL was also incorporated to demonstrate the corporate framework used to cover the illicit assets acquired by the accused \u00c1ngel Rond\u00f3n, the commercial representative for Odebrecht.
