The Ministry of Education has said the process of returning to the classrooms will be a gradual one, taking into account the ongoing behavior of the Covid-19 and the positivity rate and infections per 100K people reported over the last 7 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fulcar has said that the first to resume in-person schooling will be in municipalities where the 14-day positivity rate is no more than 5% and the 7-day infections per 100K people is 50 or less. He says this is what the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) recommends. He said every student will need a written consent from the father, mother or guardian. \u201cIt is a voluntary return,\u201d he said when interviewed on the morning radio talk show, \u201cEl Sol de la Ma\u00f1ana.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furcal mentioned 48 municipalities in 24 of 32 provinces and the National District where schools could reopen. Leading the list are the provinces of Monte Plata with 5 municipalities, Independencia (4 municipalities), and Espaillat, Saman\u00e1, San Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa, and Barahona with 3 municipalities, as reported in El Caribe. The cities of Moca, Bonao and Samana, S\u00e1nchez, Miches, Monte Plata, Jiman\u00ed, and Pedernales are included. Of the touristic cities, Saman\u00e1 and Las Terrenas made the list, also R\u00edo San Juan, all on the north coast.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The in-person reopening of schools will depends on these municipalities keeping low the spread of the disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The municipalities where the authorities will be working to authorize school re-openings are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Azua: T\u00e1bara Arriba<br>Bahoruco: Tamayo<br>Barahona: Cabral, El Pe\u00f1on, Paraiso<br>El Seibo: Miches<br>El\u00edas Pi\u00f1a: Comendador, B\u00e1nica<br>Espaillat: Jamao al Norte, Cayetano Germos\u00e9n, Moca<br>Independencia: Postrer R\u00edo, Duverg\u00e9, La Descubierta, Jiman\u00ed<br>La Romana: Guaymate, Villa Hermosa<br>La Vega: Jima Abajo<br>Mar\u00eda Trinidad S\u00e1nchez: R\u00edo San Juan<br>Monse\u00f1or Nouel: Bonao<br>Montecristi: Villa V\u00e1squez, Las Matas de Santa Cruz<br>Monte Plata: Peralvillo, Sabana Grande de Boy\u00e1, Yamas\u00e1, Bayaguana, Monte Plata<br>Pedernales: Oviedo, Pedernales<br>Puerto Plata: Guananico, Altamira,<br>Saman\u00e1: Saman\u00e1, Las Terrenas, S\u00e1nchez<br>San Crist\u00f3bal: Cambita Garabitos,<br>San Juan de la Maguana: Vallejuelo, Las Matas de Farf\u00e1n<br>San Pedro de Macor\u00eds: Los Llanos<br>S\u00e1nchez Ram\u00edrez: Cevicos<br>Santiago: Bison\u00f3, Sabana Iglesia<br>Santiago Rodr\u00edguez: Villa Los Alm\u00e1cigos<br>Santo Domingo: San Antonio de Guerra, Pedro Brand<br>San Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa: Rancho Arriba, Sabana Larga, San Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa<br>Valverde: Esperanza<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This list is subject to change, says Fulcar.
