The event was held in the Dominican Republic 18-25 April 2021. The foreign athletes were lodged at the Hodelpa Emotions in Juan Dolio and competed in the event at the Parque del Este weightlifting pavilion in eastern Santo Domingo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was the last qualifier for the Tokyo Summer Olympics. The competition was rescheduled from 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two Dominican women, Crismery Santana (87 kg) and Ver\u00f3nica Salad\u00edn (+87 kg), and two Dominican men, Zacar\u00edas Bonnat (81 kg) and Luis Garc\u00eda (56 kg) received Olympic slots. Also on the Dominican weightlifting team to Tokyo are women weightlifters C\u00e1ndida V\u00e1squez and Dahiana Ortiz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the competitions, 26-year old Crismery Santana set a new Pan American record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Colombia won the event in the men\u2019s division and the United States in the women\u2019s division.
