Public Works Minister Deligne Ascenci\u00f3n made the announcement together with Jean Luis Rodr\u00edguez, executive director of the Port Authority. The pier will serve both fishing boats, yachts and sailing boats, and ferries that cross Saman\u00e1 Bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ascenci\u00f3n and Rodr\u00edguez were in Sabana de la Mar to make the announcement after the pier in use collapsed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This is a work that the local authorities of this community had been requesting for a long time to President Luis Abinader,&#8221; said Ascenci\u00f3n. He said the feasibility and design studies had already concluded and the government is ready to begin the construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that the construction of the dock is scheduled to be completed in about four months.
