The port had closed in March 2020 after confirming the first cases of Covid-19 in the Dominican Republic. Amber Cove in Puerto Plata last week also received its first cruise ship, a Carnival ship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported in El Caribe, passengers were received by executives of Central Romana, the owner of the port and the Romana-Bayahibe Hotel Association. The governor of La Romana, Jacqueline Fernandez was also there.
