Do\u00f1a Yolanda passed away on 21 July 2021 at the age of 94 after health complications from hip surgery following a fall. She was buried at the Cristo Redentor Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;If my mother leaves a legacy, if she leaves any lesson, it is the fact that a single mother is not destined to failure per s\u00e9. What is required is dignity, sense of honor, love for her family, love for her neighbor and work. She achieved that. Therefore, she is a symbol of inspiration, not only for her family, but for all the Dominican people,&#8221; he said during the funeral mass officiated by Monsignor Victor Masalles at the Blandino Funeral Home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fernandez gave thanks for the solidarity received.
