A report in Listin Diario makes the observation that Budget and Public Expenditures Law 237-2020, amended this year with the complementary budget, obliges officials to take full responsibility for spending beyond what is budgeted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Articles 61, 62 and 63 of the law indicate that the central government officials and non-financial decentralized entities that violate the provision will have to pay the administrative debts with their personal assets, whether real estate, titles, securities, shares, &#8220;with any instrument found&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2021 budget is at RD$1.09 trillion, with an indebtedness at RD$291.52 billion.
