On Friday, 3 September 2021, judge Daniel Nolasco of the Third Chamber of the Court of Appeals of the National District said there was insufficient evidence against him to open the trial. A former financial officer at the Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD) had accused Fa\u00f1a of sexual assault. She later would desist from pressing charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government had removed Fa\u00f1a from the position as prosecutors investigated the case.
