The hosting is important to continue promoting the sport in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The World Cup Qualifying competitions will take place from 25 February to 12 March and 23 April to 8 May 2022.<br>\u201cThe CWU20 and CWU17 Championships will each be disputed in two rounds, beginning with a 16-team group stage. After round-robin play, the top three teams in each group will advance to the knockout stage [joining the four best teams from their respective qualifiers].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe knockout stage of the competitions [round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, third-place match and final] will all be played in a single match direct elimination format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfter the events, the champions, runners-up and third place finishers will qualify for the 2022 FIFA Women\u2019s U-20 and U-17 World Cups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participating teams in the CWU20 are: Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Cura\u00e7ao, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFIFA World Cup: The 2022 FIFA Women\u2019s U-20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in August of 2022, in Costa Rica. In total, 4 teams from the region will participate [Costa Rica, as the host nation and the winner, runner-up and third-place finisher]. The United States is the current champion [sixth title overall] of the CWU20 after defeating Mexico 4-1 in the 2020 Final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cParticipating teams in the U17 are: Bermuda, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Cura\u00e7ao, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago and USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFIFA World Cup: The 2022 FIFA Women\u2019s U-17 World Cup is scheduled to take place in October 2022, in India.
