Abinader made the statement when joining directors of the Dominican Agribusiness Board (JAD) for their annual award ceremony that was held at the Jaragua Renaissance Hotel &amp; Casino. Abinader spoke of the &#8220;huge amount of initiatives underway in all sectors, both international and local. &#8220;I predict a great year from the economic point of view,&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;When we meeting in the tourism sector, in the free zone sector, in the industrial sector, in the agricultural sector, I can clearly observe all of these sectors are growing, employment is growing, that is why we are all together to achieve this growth of 11% projected for this year, despite the pandemic,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Today we are building together a better Dominican Republic for all, convinced that only together we can move our country forward,&#8221; said the President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the JAD event, rice producer Oliverio Espaillat Bencosme was recognized as &#8220;Agribusinessman of the Year 2021.&#8221; The president of the Board of Directors of the JAD, Luis Bonilla explained Oliverio Espaillat is honored for his contributions to the agricultural sector in terms of innovation and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also attending were Agriculture Minister Limber Cruz; Fernando Fern\u00e1ndez, administrator of the Agricultural Bank, former President Hip\u00f3lito Mej\u00eda and former Vice President Milagros Ortiz Bosch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more in Spanish:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/listindiario.com\/la-republica\/2021\/12\/08\/700132\/abinader-augura-un-gran-ano-para-economia-en-2022\">Listin Diario<\/a><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8 December 2021<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Luis Abinader expects foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2022 to be 25% more than the FDI for 2021 that is closing at US$3 billion.
