The teams are tied for the fourth-place slot in the six-team Dominican Winter Professional Baseball league (Lidom). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gigantes del Cibao won the regular season. The other teams that made the cut for the next round-robin are Estrellas Orientales and Tigres del Licey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday (17 December) night, the Leones de Escogido defeated the Gigantes del Cibao in the Julian Javier Stadium in San Francisco de Macoris. This victory brought the Leones back from near-certain elimination from the second phase round robin to an opportunity to send defending champions, the Aguilas Cibae\u00f1as, to the \u201cdiscard\u201d heap.
