The prosecutors had sought an extension of four months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a hearing that lasted eleven hours on Tuesday, 25 January 2022, judge Raymundo Mej\u00eda granted the Specialized Prosecutor&#8217;s Office for the Prosecution of Administrative Corruption (Pepca) the additional time to file definitive charges against Major General Ad\u00e1n C\u00e1ceres Silvestre, former chief of the Specialized Presidential Security Corps (Cusep); Colonel Rafael N\u00fa\u00f1ez de Aza, Pastor Rossy Guzm\u00e1n, Corporal Tanner Flete, Sergeant Alejandro Montero and Major Ra\u00fal Gir\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The judge ordered that five of the accused continue to serve preventive custody in Najayo Jail.
