The Presidency has proposed major changes to the Dominican Constitution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past decades, sitting Presidents have convened legislators to amend the Constitution to extend their terms in government. This is not the case this year. Contrary to the practice in previous years, the proposed changes do not touch the presidential term in effect since the Constitution was changed in 2015 during the last Leonel Fernandez presidency.
