Fuente is now a dual citizen \u2013 United States and the Dominican Republic. President Luis Abinader bestowed him with the Dominican nationality in December 2022 through Decree 845-21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fuente was born in Florida, son of Carlos Fuente Sr., the founder of the family tobacco business. He has been key in promoting the Dominican Republic as a world destination for tobacco cultivation and premium cigars.
