The new cameras have been installed at the periphery fences and inside the passenger terminals, baggage handling and cargo areas. Las Americas is the second airport in volume of passenger traffic in the country, after the Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement coincides with the statement that 172 officials with the Specialized Airport Security and Civil Aviation Corps (Cesac) have been removed from their positions for having committed serious irregularities in their posts in the past year and a half.
