As a result, the local National Police commander was replaced. The new commander, Brigade General Claudio Gonz\u00e1lez Moquete has entered the fray most visibly with major sweeps of the city\u2019s barrios and random checkpoints along major thoroughfares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heavily armed police patrols in full riot gear can be seen moving about in the new trucks and motorcycles that accompanied the new commander in chief of the Central Cibao Police Directorate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the first reports more than a dozen suspicious persons have been detained and several motorcycles allegedly stolen were recovered for investigation.
