{"id":181266,"date":"2022-06-28T06:55:18","date_gmt":"2022-06-28T10:55:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dr1.com\/news\/?p=181266"},"modified":"2022-06-28T08:10:54","modified_gmt":"2022-06-28T12:10:54","slug":"samana-gets-millions-for-city-entrance-and-malecon-improvements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dr1.com\/news\/2022\/06\/28\/samana-gets-millions-for-city-entrance-and-malecon-improvements\/","title":{"rendered":"Samana gets millions for city entrance and Malec\u00f3n improvements"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img src=\"https:\/\/dr1.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Luis-Abinader-entrada-Samana-Presidencia-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-181290\" width=\"600\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>President Luis Abinader and Tourism Minister David Collado were in Samana on Sunday, 26 June 2022 to announce Project Malecon, a major uplift to the city of Samana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government has budgeted RD$449 million to improve rain drainage on the Malec\u00f3n and avoid the flooding that has affected the area in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The President also kicked off this weekend the construction of the new entrance to the city of Santa B\u00e1rbara de Saman\u00e1 at a cost of RD$300 million pesos. The work is to be executed by the Ministry of Public Works. The entrance will cover 3.3 kilometers, from the municipal district of El Lim\u00f3n to the head municipality of the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public Works Minister Deligne Ascensi\u00f3n said that the government has already invested over RD$500 million in other infrastructure works in Samana. These include the El Lim\u00f3n bridge, asphalting of the sectors of Santa B\u00e1rbara-Saman\u00e1, areas of Playa Anabel, Villa Clara, Villa F\u00e9lix, Loma de Col\u00f3n and Callej\u00f3n Javier, and the construction of the neighborhood roads El Lim\u00f3n, El Naranjo, Cabeza de Toro and Las Garitas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other public works carried out in Samana are the construction of local roads in Agua Sabrosa and Palmarito.
