The event is organized by the Ministry of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Invest Saudi and the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA) with the support of the Center for Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana). Pro Dominicana reports that 15 delegations from different countries are attending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting aims to identify projects and investment opportunities in the nations represented through conferences and B2B meetings. A portfolio of projects with higher return projections for investors is presented. It is also an opportunity for attendees to learn about the attractions of the Dominican Republic, and those of other Caribbean countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biviana Riveiro, executive director for Pro Dominicana, highlights that the work agenda seeks to strengthen the commercial ties that unite the region while everyone learns about the investment mechanisms of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWith the realization of the forum, the Dominican Republic shows its attractions and has the opportunity to consolidate its leadership around mechanisms to enhance the region for commercial purposes, as well as in the identification and attraction of new FDI,\u201d she explains in a press release on the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participating are representatives of companies valued at billions of dollars in the energy, aviation, manufacturing, industry, aviation, agribusiness, tourism, health, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Riveiro stressed that these are the best times to invest in the Dominican Republic. She pointed to opportunities in the tourism, real estate, mining, energy, telecommunications, manufacturing free zones and the transportation sectors. She said the DR has received US$1.03 billion in direct foreign investment in the first quarter of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trade with Saudi Arabia has been increasing. Over the 2015-2021 period, the annual exchange amounted to US$101.2 million. By May 2022, this had increased to US$117.6 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CAIPA vice president and president of Jampro, Diane Edwards say the Caribbean Forum opens a new door to investment in the region, as more than 150 businessmen and government representatives from investment promotion agencies, including ministers from Caribbean countries, are participating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The head of Delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Badr Albadr, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Investment, went on record stating that the Forum seeks to create ties with the region and within its responsibilities identifies Saudi investments abroad.
