This is one of four bridges that connect eastern Santo Domingo with the National District to the west.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commuters need to plan extra time when heading in either direction because repairs will partially interrupt traffic on the bridge. The repairs are scheduled to last two months. That is until 15 September 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Public Works estimates around 35,500 vehicles use the bridge Monday to Friday from 6am to 8pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Public Works explained that in the first phase of repairs the joints of the lanes on the south side of the bridge will be replaced, while in the second phase, the work will continue with the lanes on the north side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People are recommended to use alternate routes during rush hours, during the 60 days of the repairs.<br>The alternate routes for vehicles traveling in the West &#8211; East direction are: Av. 27 de Febrero &#8211; Av. Dr. Delgado &#8211; Av. M\u00e9xico, crossing towards SDE by the Mat\u00edas Ram\u00f3n Mella bridge to take the following streets:<br>Josefa Brea Street &#8211; towards Av. M\u00e9xico, crossing towards SDE by the Mat\u00edas Ram\u00f3n Mella bridge.<br>Rafael Atoa Street. &#8211; Josefa Brea St. &#8211; towards Mexico Avenue, crossing towards SDE by the Mat\u00edas Ram\u00f3n Mella Bridge.<br>Francisco Alberto Caama\u00f1o De\u00f1\u00f3 Av. &#8211; Juan Parra Alba St. &#8211; Isabel La Cat\u00f3lica St. &#8211; Merge onto Mexico Av., crossing to SDE by the Mat\u00edas Ram\u00f3n Mella Bridge.<br>Francisco Alberto Caama\u00f1o De\u00f1\u00f3 Avenue &#8211; Floating Bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For vehicles traveling in the East &#8211; West direction, the routes are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Club Rotario St &#8211; Juan Luis Duquela St &#8211; Rosario &#8211; Malec\u00f3n towards Floating Bridge, crossing towards the National District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Club Rotario &#8211; Juan Luis Duquela St &#8211; Rosario &#8211; Malec\u00f3n &#8211; Av. Espa\u00f1a &#8211; Av. 25 de Febrero, crossing towards the National District by the Mat\u00edas Ram\u00f3n Mella bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Av. Espa\u00f1a &#8211; Av. 25 de Febrero, crossing towards the National District by the Mat\u00edas Ram\u00f3n Mella bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deligne Ascenci\u00f3n explained that for drivers who decide not to use the recommended routes and reach the Juan Pablo Duarte and Juan Bosch bridges, during the morning rush hour will have 6 lanes crossing towards the National District, and two lanes crossing towards SDE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, during the evening rush hour, there will be a four lanes crossing towards the National District and four lanes crossing towards SDE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said in the afternoons, the access to the tunnel of the Americas will be exclusive for the two lanes crossing towards SDE by the Juan Bosch bridge, the two lanes of the Duarte bridge will not be in use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, the MOPC had repaired the Juan Bosch Bridge over the Ozama River and the Francisco J.
