Demand for travel to the Dominican Republic is at an all-time high. Arajet is the new airline on the block. The airline enters the market offering low cost fares for flights on board brand new Boeing 737 Max-800 airplanes. The Dominican airline has four brand new jets and offers direct flights to popular destinations and many new destinations in the Americas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline seeks to turn Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) into a connection hub for the Americas. The company is establishing a network of 20 destinations in 12 countries in its first three months. Announcing the start of flights, airline president Victor Pacheco said on Monday, 8 August 2022 that the goal is to transport seven million passengers a year in five years’ time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inaugural commercial flight will be on 15 September 2022 to Mexico City. Direct flights to Monterrey and Canc\u00fan in Mexico are also programmed. The airline is also staking a claim for travel to Barranquilla, Cali and Cartagena in Colombia. Also to Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador; Lima in Peru; Guatemala City in Guatemala; San Salvador in El Salvador; St. Martin, Aruba and Curacao in the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company is promoting starting fares, including taxes: El Salvador (from US$158), Curacao (from US$178), Mexico (US$198) and Colombia (US$198).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alvaro de Oleo, marketing vice president for the company, said Arajet will always offer the lowest fares for the routes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De Oleo announced that as of October 2022, the company will add direct flights to Toronto and Montreal in Canada; Medellin and Bogot\u00e1 in Colombia; San Jos\u00e9 in Costa Rica, and to Kingston, Jamaica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
