The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD), working with the the Airport Security Corps and members of the Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office, seized 6,195 suspected ecstasy pills at the Las Americas International Airport on Tuesday, 27 September 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The anti-narcotics agents were carrying out a routine inspection in one of the terminal&#8217;s warehouses when a canine unit alerted of strange substances in a box, inside which there were children&#8217;s toys and clothes.<br>Subsequently, in the presence of a deputy prosecutor, the agents proceeded to make a more thorough search, finding eight sheets filled with the pills, embedded with a special glue in the lower and upper lids of the box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The package was sent, supposedly by a woman from New York City and was to be received by a man with an address in the Villa Consuelo sector of the National District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more in Spanish:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/dncd.gob.do\/index.php\/noticias1\/noticias\/item\/1478-ocupan-en-el-aila-mas-de-seis-mil-pastillas-presumiblemente-de-extasis\">DNCD <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>28 September 2022<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ecstasy is a stimulant drug that can cause hallucinations.
