The tourism industry is today 16% of Gross Domestic Product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The president of the National Hotel &amp; Tourism Association (Asonahores), Rafael Blanco Tejera highlighted that the sector generates more than 570,000 direct and indirect jobs and that this year the country will close with more than US$8.4 billion in tourism receipts. Blanco Tejera spoke on occasion of the 5th Tourism Investment Forum at the Hotel Embajador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He attributed the success to the close relationship and unified government and private sector strategies.
