The second largest city of the Dominican Republic has an inner-city international airport and is a booming medical tourism destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tourism Minister David Collado was in Santiago on Monday, 5 December 2022, when he committed to invest the RD$250 million in Santiago. Of the total, RD$40 million is allocated to promote and support cultural activities in the city, including the February carnival. Another RD$10 million will be used to design the Santiago city brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RD$200 million is targeted to renovate the Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration and the historic center. The monument towers over a city rotunda where cultural and entertainment activities are organized. The Cluster Santiago Destino Tur\u00edstico will present the proposal for renovating cultural buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Collado announced that on 17 and 18 December, the &#8220;Tourism in Every Corner&#8221; program of the Ministry of Tourism will carry out activities in Santiago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Santiago, Collado signed agreements with leading tourism and business entities.
