The judicial hearing is now set for 17 February 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lawsuit was filed by the Instituto de Abogados para la Protecci\u00f3n del Medio Ambiente (Insaproma), the Comisi\u00f3n Nacional de los Derechos Humanos, Junta De Vecinos La Nueva Esperanza; Fundaci\u00f3n Pro-Desarrollo Los Negros; Junta De Vecinos Brisas Del Mar and Juntas De Vecinos Transparencia, against the Ministry of the Environment and the company &#8220;Karpowership Dominican Republic, SAS (Proyecto Karpowership Azua).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lawyer Euren Cuevas Medina, executive director of Insaproma, said that an &#8220;amparo&#8221; action filed by community entities before a court of Azua, against the barge operations will be heard on 8 February 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more in Spanish:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/listindiario.com\/la-republica\/2023\/02\/03\/761044\/tsa-aplaza-nuevamente-solicitud-de-suspension-de-operaciones-de-barcazas-en-puerto-viejo-de-azua\">Listin Diario <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6 February 2023<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Environmental and Azua community groups reject the operation of the power barge in Azua and have request the suspension of the environmental license issued by the Ministry of Environment.
