Victor Gomez Berges would go on to serve in government for over 56 years. At the end of his career, he served as a judge of the Constitutional Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Born in Santiago on 25 February 1940, he was known as a lawyer, writer, diplomat, politician, and professor. Among his numerous positions on government, aside from being secretary of foreign relations, was the high-ranking positions in the departments of Education, Finance, Industry and Commerce and Interior and Police.
