The Supreme Court responded to a request by the Corporaci\u00f3n Aeroportuaria del Este, a Grupo Puntacana affiliate, filed on 5 March 2020. The Corporaci\u00f3n Aeroportuaria del Este is the owner and operator of the Punta Cana International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Supreme Court rejected a cassation appeal filed by the Abrisa Group and the Bavaro International Airport against a resolution of the Superior Administrative Court (TSA) that opposed the construction of the second international airport in the eastern beach destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported in Listin Diario, the Third Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice issued its opinion in judgment number SCJ-TS-23-0507 dated 28 April 2023, signed by judges Manuel Alexis Read Ortiz, Manuel R. Herrera Carbuccia and Anselmo Alejandro Bello.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The appeal sought to annul a judgment issued by the Superior Administrative Court (TSA) that revoked resolution 007\/2020 of the Ministry of Public Works that had cleared the construction of the Bavaro International Airport. A resolution of the Airport Commission issued on 23 January 2020 had granted its no objection to the development, construction and operation of the Bavaro International Airport by the Abrisa Group.
