The Chamber of Accounts (CC) sent its findings of irregularities in the transactions carried out by the Cabinet of Coordination of Social Policy (GCPS) under its director Tony Pe\u00f1a Guaba to the Attorney General’s Office. Major irregularities were detected in the contracting of artists for events during December 2020, at the start of the Abinader administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CC verified the GCPS had carried out a disbursement of R$32 million 50 thousand pesos before the signing of the contracts by the beneficiaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to El Nacional newspaper, the CC ordered that the report be sent to the coordinator of the Social Policy Coordination Cabinet, the Comptroller General of the Republic, the Taxes Agency (DGIl), the Public Procurement Agency (DGCP), the Governmental Accounting Agency (Digecog), the Social Security Treasury (TSS), and to the General Ethics and Government Integrity Agency (Digeig).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CC calls attention to widespread non-compliance with constitutional, legal and regulatory provisions related to government accounting, budget execution, internal control, fiscal responsibility and the national system of purchases and contracting of goods and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of the beneficiaries of the Christmas splurge by the Social Cabinet were not registered as state suppliers with the Public Procurement Agency (DGCP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
