The Constitutional Court addressed a request to revoke Dominican Holidays Law 139-97. The citizen sought to impede that days such as the birthday of Juan Pablo Duarte, the forefather of the country, be celebrated on the previous or following Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The court argued that the Constitution impedes the examining of decisions of the Supreme Court that are previous to 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Supreme Court had decided in 2008 that Law 139-97, which changes the celebration of certain holidays to Monday if the holiday falls on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday was not unconstitutional.
