The student is recognized for her timely actions that saved the hand of a fellow student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday, 12 June 2023, the Universidad Central del Este (UCE) awarded the full scholarship to attend medical school to 17-year old Ashly Esmeralda Feliciano, for helping a 15-year old male student whose left hand was cut off outside the Jos\u00e9 Joaqu\u00edn P\u00e9rez Public High School, located in the Villa Vel\u00e1zquez sector of San Pedro de Macor\u00eds. The Police has arrested Juan Manuel Cedano (El Manguito) and V\u00edctor Manuel Ortiz in the criminal case. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feliciano had taken a first aid course and acted correctly. This enabled plastic surgeons at the Salvador Gautier Teaching Hospital in Santo Domingo to reconnect the teenager\u2019s hand.
