In resorts and touristic residence areas around the country, there is most likely to be many a striking tree with all its flowers. This happens, for example, in Casa de Campo in La Romana and Guavaberry in San Pedro de Macoris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Diario Libre’s Adalberto de la Rosa writes about the trees and how they bring great color to Santo Domingo in June and July with their intense reddish-orange flowers. The rest of the year, the trees are all green foliage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
De la Rosa writes poetry when he shares that the tree reproduces itself by seeds sheltered in long pods that in their dry state become “maracas” that emit sounds that combine with the dancing of the flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
