Their case is known as the Squid (Calamar) Case. The review of their pre-trial measures was just postponed for 1 September 2023. The former ministers seek to be allowed to wait out the trial under domiciliary arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The defense of Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n Peralta insists that Peralta should not have been included in the Calamar corruption case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the former Medina administration officers accused of corruption were sent to domiciliary arrest after 18 months in jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The former ministers Donald Guerrero and Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n Peralta, main defendants in Operation Calamar, are serving 18 months of preventive imprisonment in the Najayo Jail in San Crist\u00f3bal for their ties to the administrative corruption network operating during the presidency of Danilo Medina.
