The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) and Public Prosecutor’s Office members announced the crack down on a major criminal structure that operated in the National District, San Cristobal and La Vega. The criminal group was dismantled following leads from the confiscation last week of some 69.42 kilograms at the Port of Caucedo in Santo Domingo province. The drugs would have been exported in boxes of bananas to Rotterdam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the simultaneous operation in the National District, San Cristobal and La Vega, Ariel Ernesto Gonz\u00e1lez M\u00e9ndez, Abrah\u00e1n Lorenzo P\u00e9rez, Silvio Antonio P\u00e9rez Gonz\u00e1lez and Aridis Dur\u00e1n were arrested, while two other suspects remain at large. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The authorities raided two agricultural products companies, a discotheque, loan offices, apartments and residences, where they seized nine vehicles, clothes, four firearms, RD$5,234,450, US$3,000, several computers, pressing machines, boxes, scales, holsters and other equipment for the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the interventions, ten prosecutors carried out 12 raids, supported by more than 50 DNCD agents, in a joint operation that began Tuesday, 4 July 2023 in the afternoon and concluded early Wednesday, 5 July in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the National District, the Silvio Pulpo discotheque, two investment companies, a residence in Colinas del Oeste and an apartment with a workshop in the Maria Auxiliadora sector, where several men were caught burning boxes containing a substance suspected to be cocaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In San Crist\u00f3bal, the company Organic Land, located in Cambita, San Cristobal was raided, while in La Vega, a farm was raided, where boxes also suspected to have cocaine were seized and equipment to prepare the drug packets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The traffickers prepared double-bottomed sheets filled with cocaine in boxes of agricultural products, for export to Europe and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
