Local medics warn not to use the traditional X-ray sheets or sunglasses to see the eclipse. The eclipse will be visible in Santo Domingo as of 12:34 to 2:13pm on Saturday. In Santiago, it will be visible earlier, starting 12:29pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People should use special eclipse glasses, colanders, slotted spoons. Anything else with small holes can be used to view the sun safely. Online, there are recommendations to even poke holes in a piece of cardboard for safe viewing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Saturday, 14 October 2023, annular solar eclipse will cross North, Central, and South America. It will be visible in parts of the United States, Mexico, and many countries in South and Central America.
