After investigative journalist Nuria Piera denounced the inconsistency between the young woman\u2019s statement of wealth and her jobs in government, Kinsberly (Kimberly) Taveras resigned her position as minister of youth in December 2020. She had been appointed at the start of government of President Luis Abinader in August 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taveras was never prosecuted. Now the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) announces that Taveras lead the polls held to choose the party candidate for deputy for the Santo Domingo province district five. Likewise, her husband, Jheyson Garc\u00eda Castillo was selected PRM candidate for the Santo Domingo province district one. He is the son of Josefa Castillo, Superintendent of Insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Josefa Castillo, a high-ranking PRM director, had been elected to the Santo Domingo district three seat in Congress in the 2020 election but resigned to instead take the position of Superintendent of Insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diario Libre cartoonist, Noticiero Poteleche, dedicated his cartoon to Kinsberly Taveras on 12 October 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The polls to choose the PRM candidates were carried out by the companies Gallup Dominicana, Centro Econ\u00f3mico del Cibao and Ipsos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
