She is competing against Waldo Ariel Suero, who is seeking to be re-elected for a sixth time in the 8 November CMD election. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Aquino Rojas says that there is apathy on the behalf of doctors. She said in previous elections, only 15% of the 49,000-strong membership voted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being a member of the CMD is obligatory. To vote, physicians have but to pay RD$500. Most physicians don&#8217;t bother. In the past election, Dr. Senen Caba won with 7,800 votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Aquino wants to attract the young doctors. She says it is necessary that young people feel represented and have more access to opportunities and fewer obstacles in the health system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Get active, come on 8 November to exercise your free right to vote,&#8221; she tells her colleagues.
