The favorites to win, the Caribbean Queens of volleyball once again delivered the gold at a Pan American Games. The Dominican senior women’s team had won the gold medal at the 2019 Pan Am Games held in Lima, Peru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dominican women’s volleyball team defeated Brazil 26-24, 25-16, and 25-15 to take the title. They won all their five matches and lost only one set in the entire tournament. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niverka Marte of the Dominican team was voted the Most Valuable Player of the Pan Am volleyball competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brazil is ranked third in the world in senior women’s volleyball by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). Brazil and the United States sent B teams to the Pan Am Games. The Dominican Republic competed with its A team. The DR is ranked eighth in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
