The Rays mounted a 7-0 lead with many Boston fans leaving Fenway early in disappointment. Dustin Pedroia hit an RBI single, for Boston’s first run. Then Papi stepped to the plate and hit a three-run bomb in the seventh, cutting the deficit to three. Then J.D. Drew hit a two-run blast that cut the deficit to 1. Coco Crisp batted in the tying run in the 8th and Drew hit a game winning single in the bottom of the 9th to give the Sox the win.
