On the same day that the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) launched the candidacy of Guillermo Moreno for senator, former President Leonel Fernandez announced the coalition that will be backing his party, the Fuerza del Pueblo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fuerza del Pueblo (People\u2019s Force) party launched the Great Alliance for Economic and Social Renewal (Ganaremos), announcing it is an opposition party coalition for the municipal, congressional and presidential elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The political alliance integrates the Quisqueyano Christian Democratic (PQDC), Christian Social Reformist (PRSC), Institutional Democrat (PDI), the Social Democratic Institutional (BIS) and Pe\u00f1agomeristas blocs with Leonel Fernandez\u2019s People\u2019s Force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“What we are seeing is how the people are joining the cause represented by the progressive bloc of the Ganaremos coalition. The only ones who do not see it are those who are in the government,” said Fern\u00e1ndez in his speech at the event, which was timed in parallel with the proclamation of Luis Abinader as a presidential candidate for the Alianza Pa\u00eds party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
