A second person accused of being involved in the attempted murder of baseball great David Ortiz was found dead. The authorities revealed that a cattle ranch farm worker found Victor Hugo Gomez Vasquez\u2019s decomposed corpse on 10 January 2024 in the Batey Palmara. The body was identified by the ID card in a pocket. The authorities suspect Gomez Vasquez was murdered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A source told El Dia, Gomez Vasquez had been kidnapped. Gomez Vasquez\u2019s wife had said her husband had gone missing since 9 December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gomez Vasquez had been in jail in the United States for drug trafficking in 2011. He was arrested on 28 June 2023 accused of being the intellectual author of the attempted Ortiz murder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In September 2021, Luis Alfredo Rivas, alias \u201cthe surgeon\u201d and also implicated in the attempted murder of Ortiz was murdered by gunshots in Santiago. He was a fugitive of US justice since attempted murder in 2018 in Reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An investigation into the case called by former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis established that Dominican drug trafficker C\u00e9sar Emilio Peralta (the Abuser) was the one who ordered the killing of David Ortiz. The revelation contradicted the findings of the Attorney General of the time, Jean Alain Rodriguez, who attributed the shooting to a case of mistaken identity committed by hired hitmen and ruled out the participation of the capo, who at present is detained in Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
