On Saturday, 24 February 2024 in the evening, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli performed before an almost full stadium of Dominicans signing his ballads and tunes. Bocelli sings in Spanish and Italian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bocelli accomplished the feat that merengue, salsa and urban music performances had done before. It was the first time that an artist performed classic music accompanied by a local symphony and filled the stadium. Carlos Bernini was the guest conductor for the Santo Domingo Philarmonic Orchestra for the performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tickets for the show ranged from RD$4,000 to RD$71,000 VIP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diario Libre reported that the concert opened with the famed Italian tenor signing Goerges Bizet\u2019s “L’Arlesiane\u201d and Giuseppe Verdi\u2019s “La Donna \u00e8 Mobile” from “Rigoletto” and the aria from “The Barber of Seville\u201d and \u201cLa Traviata\u201c and \u201cLa Mia Letizia Infondere\u201d among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also sang \u201cThe Merry Widow\u201d by Franz Lehar and \u201cLa Boheme\u201d by Giacomo Puccini and Gaetano Donizetti\u2019s “La Fille du R\u00e9giment”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although most of the songs were sung by the artist in Italian, he pleased the local audience who also wanted to hear him in Spanish. He delighted crowds with “Vivo per lei,\u201d originally by the Spanish group Manzalli-Mengalli-Zelli;”Granada,” “En Aranjuez con tu amor”, “Amapola” and “B\u00e9same mucho,” connecting with the audience who were all praise and ovations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
