{"id":212345,"date":"2024-03-06T08:05:50","date_gmt":"2024-03-06T12:05:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dr1.com\/news\/?p=212345"},"modified":"2024-03-06T08:42:22","modified_gmt":"2024-03-06T12:42:22","slug":"self-made-neuroscientist-elizabeth-silverio-gets-freedom-of-movement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dr1.com\/news\/2024\/03\/06\/self-made-neuroscientist-elizabeth-silverio-gets-freedom-of-movement\/","title":{"rendered":"Self-made neuroscientist Elizabeth Silverio gets freedom of movement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img src=\"https:\/\/dr1.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Elizabeth-Silverio-N-Digital-1024x687.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-200126\" width=\"600\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Defense lawyer Candido Sim\u00f3n was able to convince a judge to vary the pretrial measures against his defendant Elizabeth Silverio, accused of posing as a neuroscientist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Judge Raymundo Mej\u00eda of the First Investigative Court of the National District, ordered that Elizabeth Silverio&#8217;s electronic locator be removed and expanded the limits of his defendant&#8217;s movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Silverio is investigated for fraud and violation of the General Public Health Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The judge also accepted a longer period for the Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office to investigate the allegations that Silverio usurped medical functions at her center, the Kogland Neurocognitive and Psychopedagogical Therapy Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elizabeth Silverio is charged with usurpation of functions in the area of health, in violation of the General Health Law 42-01, article 405 of the Dominican Penal Code and article 62 of the General Education Law No. 66-97.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The irregularities in her credentials were known after investigative journalist Nuria Piera presented evidence of fake accreditations and permissions to work.
