Five women were nominated to Vice President, and two women are running for President and nominated men as their running mates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announced runners in the 2024 presidential elections on 19 May 2024 will be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM): Luis Abinader + incumbent Vice President Raquel Pe\u00f1a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Partido de la Liberaci\u00f3n Dominicana (PLD): Abel Mart\u00ednez + Zoraima Cuello. Zoraima Cuello served as Deputy Ministry in charge of governmental coordination at the Ministry of the Presidency from August 2012 to May 2020 during the Danilo Medina presidency. She kept a low profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fuerza del Pueblo (FP): former President Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez + Ingrid Mendoza. Ingrid Mendoza is the widow of lawyer Reynaldo Pared Perez, who served as president of the Senate from 2006 to 2014 and 2016 to 2020. She was an active lawyer in the private sector, working mostly for the Reid Group. She is also said to have assisted her husband. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Partido Revolucionario Dominicano (PRD): former Minister of Foreign Relations Miguel Vargas Maldonado + lawyer Joel D\u00edaz Ure\u00f1a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Frente Amplio (FA): educator Mar\u00eda Teresa Cabrera + Marcha Verde social activist, journalist Jesus Diaz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Generaci\u00f3n de Servidores (GENS): pastor Carlos Pe\u00f1a + Nikauly de la Mota, a communicator who served as minister counsellor at the Dominican Embassy in Mexico named in 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Opci\u00f3n Democr\u00e1tica (OD): politician and communicator Virginia Antares + architect and social activist Ico Abreu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Partido Esperanza Democr\u00e1tica (PED): Roque Espaillat + outspoken medical doctor Ernesto Fadul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patria para todos (PPT): cardiologist and writer Fulgencio Severino + Francisca Peguero.
